How to Train Your Dragon 2 is a 2014 American computer-animated action fantasy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by 20th Century Fox. The sequel to the 2010 film How to Train Your Dragon, it is loosely based on the book series of the same name by Cressida Cowell. The film was directed by Dean DeBlois, produced by Bonnie Arnold, and written by DeBlois and Cressida Cowell. It features the voices of Jay Baruchel, Cate Blanchett, Gerard Butler, Craig Ferguson, America Ferrera, Jonah Hill, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, T.J. Miller, and Djimon Hounsou.
In the film, five years after the events of the first film, Hiccup and Toothless discover a secret ice cave that is home to hundreds of new dragons and a mysterious Dragon Rider. They must work together to protect the dragons from a power-hungry warlord who wants to use them for his own evil purposes.
